Farming

It’s been a week since we got the heifer delivered to the farm. She was pretty scary as she was being led to her pasture. A young gentleman and his wife that have experience around cattle walked her to her pasture. At one point she drug him on the ground, and he held on to that rope.

Luna My daughter has named her Luna. We have been feeding her grain, and hay. Every morning she takes a little from our hand. She will “Moo” in the morning for her food, and then again in the evening. We keep a halter on her until she can walk with a lead without going bonkers.

She will be artificially inseminated around Thanksgiving. She will then be returned to us, and then an ultrasound will be performed to see if she is pregnant. In July, she will be auctioned while she is pregnant.
